Aleksandar Protic

Aleksandar Protic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. In 1998 he graduates at Applied Arts Academy in Belgrade, Department for Fashion Design and Costumes. The same year he enrolls Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, Department for Fashion Design. While in Belgrade, the “Belgrade Fashion Statue” awards him with the Prize “The Most Promising Designer in Fashion”. At the same time he closed Belgrade Fashion Week with his graduation collection. In 1999 he moves to Lisbon, Portugal, where in 2000 he opens his own shop and starts his own label Aleksandar Protic. Since 2001 he regularly shows collections on Moda Lisboa, Lisbon Fashion Week official schedule. Besides his work as fashion designer, he collaborates as costume designer with various artists in the fields of contemporary dance and theatre. In 2010 Aleksandar Protic was selected by Maison de la Creation to represent Portugal in the project CITÉ EUROMÉDITERRANÉENNE DE LA MODE that culminated with the exhibition in Marseille, European Capital of Culture in July 2013.

Aleksandar´s work is based on exploring forms through sculpting and draping, combining structured and soft forms often creating dramatic, wearable garments. He usually finds his inspiration in art, music and the world that surrounds him.

Katarina (Urošević) Samardžić

Katarina (Urošević) Samardžić finished her undergraduate studies in 2005 at University of Applied Arts in Belgrade. She graduated in 2009 at University of Connecticut at the department of Costume design with a MFA degree. She designed a numerous costumes for theatre plays, opera houses, children and puppet theatre plays in USA and her homeland Serbia. She also designed costumes for several domestic movies, numerous commercial shows for domestic and foreign field, as well as important projects in cultural and educational broadcasts at Serbian National Television (RTS). Since 2006 she realised her costume design all over United States such as Sarasota Opera House, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Nafe Katter Theatre, Hartford Stage, New Orleans (USITT Competition), also as in Serbian national theatres such as BDP, Theatre Bosko Buha, National Theatre in Krusevac, National Theatre in Kikinda….

She worked as a fashion designer and stylist for Serbian commercial brends Bonatti and Zextra, and since 2011 she joined the team of fashion house Sent George where she designed 8 collections and realised fashion shows for this brand. She exhibited on a numerous exhibitions all over a world (USA, South Korea, Czech Republic, Serbia…). She is a member of Serbian National Union of Designers (ULUPUDS) since 2010. Since 2017 she works as a professor at the department of Fashion Design at Univerzitet Metropolitan in Belgrade, Serbia.

Tijana (Maljkovic) Pavlov


Tijana (Maljkovic) Pavlov, born in Belgrade 1980. She graduated at the department of Contemporary Clothing Design, at Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and pursued her Master’s Degree in Menswear design. She has been designing menswear collections under her name since 2006.

Her name has listed as one of resident designers of Belgrade Fashion Week. She was elected as top five finalist for the Global Fashion Competition, organized by REPLAY (Italy) in 2007 called as “Box of Dreams” and KONTAKT FASHION AWARD 2009 organized by Erste Bank (Austria).

In 2010 with 20 Serbian Fashion Designers, Tijana organized “Belgrade Design District”, which presents creative space with independent Serbian designer’s shops. Today B.D.D. is an important spot on the Belgrade’s city map and her shop “No Brothers No Sisters” was listed in “must see locations” in Belgrade by few international magazines including L’Officiel Paris and Lufthansa Mag. She is also one of the founders of Serbian Fashion Designers Association.

Since 2012, driven by vibrant Thai young fashion talents, Tijana focuses more at academic career as Fashion Design Lecturer, starting at Accademia Italiana Bangkok, CIDI Bangkok and finally, ESMOD. Upon her return to Serbia she joins the team at Univerzitet Metropolitan in Belgrade, Serbia.

Mitko Hadzi - Pulja

Mitko Hadzi – Pulja is an architect and full-time professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje (Ss. Cyril and Methodius National University). He has a  Master’s degree from the University of Belgrade in the field of architectural composition and a Ph.D. from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje on the topic of Phenomenology of Architectural Space. He was a participant and co-curator of the Macedonian National Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture for which he received special recognition with the 2008 City of Possible Worlds project.

Prof. Hadzi – Pulja had been participating in architectural exhibitions in Venice, Berlin, New York, and Vienna together with Minas Bakalchev, under the acronym MBMHP, and they had been working together on architectural projects, workshops, presentations, and exhibitions. They have received numerous national and city awards for their work. Their motto is “with architecture, the world can become more beautiful.”
